Evolution Of Computer Networks – Computer networks combine several independent students of science and engineering such as telecommunications, computer science, information technology and/or computer engineering. 1964 – Researchers develop the Dartmouth Time-Sharing System for separate computer systems in Dartmouth. In the same year, a group of researchers at MIT managed to direct and manage telephones using computers. General Electric and Bell Labs supported this project.
1965 – Lawrence G. Roberts and Thomas Merrill succeeded in creating the first wide area network (WAN). Therefore, In the same year, the first PSTN (Public Switched Network) switch to use introduced it by Western Electric. Then, That is important because it uses the right computer controls for networking for the first time in history.

November 1969 – Their first permanent ARPANET link made it between the Messaging Processor (IMP). Therefore, the interface at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and IMP at the Stanford Research Institute.
December 1969 – The entire four-node network with the University of California, Santa Barbara, UCLA, Stanford Research Institute, and the University of Utah Computer Science Department at each node are connected.
1972 – Commercial services use X.25 they deploy and then they use as basic infrastructure to expand the network of Transmission Control Protocols / Internet Protocols.
1989 – Timothy Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web at the European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.
